Inhalt/Content

Since the emergence of MRSA CC398 in livestock, their spread into the human community and their entry into healthcare facilities, this novel livestock-associated MRSA lineage has reached enormous socio-economic impact and increasing health-care implications. Understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in host and environment adaptation processes of CC398 may help to estimate the potential risks of these clones as well as to develop strategies to prevent similar species barrier-breaking events in the future.
