MRI:

The 32-year-old male patient presented with acute headache attacks and a feeling of dizziness. MR imaging showed a colloid cyst on the roof of the third ventricle, which was obstructing the left foramen of Monro and thus led to an enlargement of the left lateral ventricle.

Navigation:

Due to the unilateral enlargement of the left ventricle, the access is created on the left. The burr hole is selected far frontal and far lateral in order to achieve a good overview of the roof of the third ventricle.

The postoperative MR image shows complete removal of the cyst. Ventricle size is considerably reduced just 14 days after the operation. The patient's symptoms were alleviated immediately after the operation.
