Am 07.11.2014 verteidigte Michael Glaubitz erfolgreich seine Doktorarbeit mit dem Titel: "Optimized AFM approaches for force-identation measurements associated with cell elasticity". Diese Arbeit ist die zweite, die vollständig im ZIK HIKE angefertigt wurde. Michael Glaubitz hat als Physiker durch Entwicklung neuer Algorithmen zur Datenauswertung die AFM Technologie des ZIK HIKE wesentlich beeinflusst und neue Wege zur Untersuchung der Biomechanik von humanen Zellen beschritten.

Hoher Besuch im ZIK HIKE
Anlässlich der Feierlichkeiten zum 75. Jahrestag der Nobelpreisverleihung an Gerhard Domagk besuchte auch der Dekan der Universitätsmedizin Greifwald, Prof. Biffar, zusammen mit Herrn Valentin Schmitt-Lord, dem Geschäftsführer der Bayer Stiftung, das ZIK HIKE, um sich von den vielfachen Forschungsmöglichkeiten und der Hightech Ausstattung des Zentrums ein Bild zu machen. Bereits im vergangenen Jahr wurde eine Verbindung zwischen der Bayer Stiftung und dem ZIK HIKE etabliert: Dr. Krystin Krauel hatte einen wesentlichen Teil ihrer Forschungsarbeiten in unserem Zentrum angefertigt und war dafür von der Bayer Stiftung 2013 mit dem Forschungspreis „Thrombosis Research Awards“ ausgezeichnet worden.
