Dr. Silva Holtfreter received her Dipl.-Humanbio. and PhD degrees from the University of Greifswald (Germany) in 2003 and 2009, respectively. After working in the lab of John Fraser at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) for 2.5 years, she moved back to Greifswald in 2012. Since 2016, she is leading a junior research group focusing on immunomics as a tool to improve diagnosis and treatment of infectious endocarditis as well as on passive vaccination with monoclonal antibodies against Staphylococcus aureus (Card-ii-Omics https://www.card-ii-omics.med.uni-rostock.de/).
