Bacteria kill.

Infections are a major threat to health also in the 21st century, fueled by the crisis of antibiotic resistance.

Fortunately, most of the time, the immune system maintains a dynamic equilibrium with the microbial world, keeping us in good health. How is this achieved? When does it fail and what can be done when it does? The organism’s defense system between protection and immune pathology is our area of interest.
