M.Sc. Jessica von Fournier

Jessica von Fournier is a PhD student of the Research Training Group (RTG-PRO) at the University Medicine Greifswald. RTG-PRO intends to further extend our understanding of selected protease systems in infection and inflammation. The research area Jessica is working in lays focus on the examination of proteases during bacterial colonization and their role in balancing type 1 and 2 inflammation. She aims to elucidate the role of S. aureus serine protease-like protein B (SplB) in murine allergic asthma using in vivo and in vitro models. Her research is supervised by Dr. Murty Darisipudi.

Jessica graduated at the University of Greifswald in Human Biology, with specializations in microbiology and immunology. In her master’s thesis, she investigated the influence of antibiotics on the human gut microbiota with a meta-omics approach.
